None of Russia’s players are carrying injuries ahead of their Euro 2012 opener against the Czech Republic on Friday, coach Dick Advocaat said Thursday.
His comments suggest Igor Akinfeev, usually Russia's first-choice goalkeeper, will be available despite aggravating an old knee injury Tuesday.
“We’re looking forward to the game for tomorrow, and everybody is fit,” Advocaat said.
For the Czech Republic, forward Milan Baros is an injury doubt with a suspected groin muscle tear, while Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has been struggling to recover from a calf muscle strain he picked up while playing for the London club last month.
After the Czech game, Russia will play Poland on Tuesday and Greece on June 16.
Euro 2012 is Advocaat’s last tournament as Russia coach after two years in the job. He will join Dutch team PSV Eindhoven when it finishes.
