Russia considers India and South-East Asia as key foreign markets for the sale of Sukhoi Superjet 100 medium-haul airliners made by the country's leading aircraft producer Sukhoi, part of United Aircraft Corporation, UAC head Mikhail Pоgosyan said on Wednesday.
Sukhoi currently has 170 firm orders for the supply of Superjet 100 airliners, Pogosyan said at a news conference held as part of the Aero India 2011 exposition in Bangalore.
"We consider the Indian and South-East Asian markets as some of the most promising areas to promote the aircraft on the global market," Pоgosyan said.
"I believe that we will reach specific agreements both with Indian air companies and other companies in the region in the near future," he said.
Pоgosyan also said that there were good prospects for the sales of Russian-Ukrainian An-148 aircraft in Asia.
