Kaluga to Start Peugeot 408 Production

The new model, specifically developed for the Russian market, has been specially adapted to Russian roads and local severe weather conditions after trials in the Urals and the Polar regions.

Sales of the new Peugeot model in Russia will start from September 2012.

The new Peugeot 408 is one of the longest vehicles of its class with a length of 4.7 meters.

In addition to Russia, the Peugeot 408 has been designed for the China and Latin America markets.

PSMA Rus was opened in Kaluga in 2010 and has an annual production capacity of 45,000 cars.

PSMA Rus General Director Didier Alton said at the line opening ceremony he expected production of Citroen C4 L and new models of Mitsubishi Outlander at the Kaluga plant would start within the next two years.
