The Association for British Travel Agents (ABTA) and the tour operator Thomas Cook ranked a list of most ridiculous complaints received by tour operators.
British tourists found their holidays were spoiled because “the beach was too sandy”. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no one told us we had to bring our swimming costumes and towels,” other tourists complained. A couple on vacation with their children were dissatisfied because “no one told us there would be fish in the sea; the children were startled”.
But the best complaint came from the hapless bride who booked a double room with two beds: “My fiance and I booked a twin-bedded room, but we were placed in a double-bedded room. We now hold you responsible for the fact that I find myself pregnant.”
