In November 2008 Dmitry Medvedev became the first Russian head of state to visit Venezuela during the 150 years of their diplomatic relations. On November 27, 2008, Chavez and Medvedev toured Russia’s Admiral Chabanenko warship in the Venezuelan port of La Guaira.
