Russia's football team will kick off their Euro 2012 preparations with a friendly against Denmark, officials announced Thursday.
The match is slated for February 29 in Copenhagen. The Russian Football Union have also set aside May 25 for a second friendly, though opponents are yet to be found, the union said in a website statement.
Euro 2012 starts June 8.
Denmark should provide a stern test for Dick Advocaat's team, having outgunned Portugal to win Group H in qualifying.
The draw for the finals saw the Danes thrown back in with the Portuguese in the “group of death,” where they will also face the Netherlands and Germany.
Russia, who also won their qualifying group, are up against the Czech Republic, co-hosts Poland and 2004 champions Greece.
