
Nord Stream has divided opinion in Europe, as politicians search for solutions to the continent's dwindling ability to meet its ever growing energy demands.
Nord Stream, which plans to bring 55 million cubic meters of Russian natural gas a year to Europe via the Baltic Sea, by-passing the troubled Ukrainian route, has finally secured €3.9 billion of funding and will begin construction at the start of the month, executives of the project confirmed on Tuesday.
