Part of the strategic war games, Center-2011, a Russia-Kazakhstan military exercises, took place near the Caspian Sea. Military units from both countries made up an allied force that was directed to defend the seacoast under the scenario. Later the contingent routed the aggressor at the Oimasha proving grounds.
