TEL AVIV, July 11 (RIA Novosti) - Israeli troops have killed a Palestinian gunman after he wounded two Israelis in the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces press service said on Friday.
The IDF said the militant had fired at an Israeli civilian driving near the Palestinian town of Qalqiliya. When troops arrived in the area, the gunman shot an officer before being shot by Israeli troops.
So far, no Palestinian group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza agreed on a truce three weeks ago. The deal is limited to the enclave and has already been broken by Gaza-based militants who have fired rockets into Israel in response to Israeli 'aggression' in the West Bank.
Hamas seized control of Gaza from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement more than a year ago.
