MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - Four U.S. troops were killed by roadside bombs in Iraq on Tuesday, the forces' largest death toll in the country since late June.
Three U.S. troops were killed while on patrol near Baiji in north Iraq, and another died in southern Baghdad. The U.S. military did not provide further details on the killings.
Fatalities among American soldiers had declined since the military pulled out of urban areas on June 30 in line with a U.S.-Iraqi security pact.
In Iraq's Kirkuk Province, at least 10 Iraqi police officers including a commander were killed and six others wounded on Tuesday.
Several other insurgent attacks have been reported throughout the country.
CNN quoted an Iraqi Interior Ministry official as saying one civilian died in northern Baghdad and 12 others were injured when a car carrying Ministry of Health employees was blown up.
