An Idaho company is aiming for new business with pork-laced bullets they claim will not only kill Islamic terrorists, but also keep them from entering heaven by exposing them to pork, which their religion forbids.

WASHINGTON, June 24 (RIA Novosti) – An Idaho company is aiming for new business with pork-laced bullets they claim will not only kill Islamic terrorists, but also keep them from entering heaven by exposing them to pork, which their religion forbids.

“We took the paint and added some pork product, which is a conglomeration of bone, blood and meal,” said Brendon Hill, spokesman for Jihawg Ammo, which developed and launched the pink bullets and a small line of apparel two months ago.

The product, which has drawn sharp criticism from one civil-liberties group, is ostensibly aimed at deterring radical Islamists, whom Hill described as “the guys who like to cut off heads.”

“The main thing was to make sure there’s enough pork in the paint to say it was ‘haram,’ which is unclean, and so their belief is that becoming unclean during jihad will prevent them from entering heaven,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the company website, the idea was hatched in 2010 when a group of “patriots” who were “enjoying an adult beverage” began discussing a mosque being built near the site of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York City.

The group concluded the mosque was a “great insult” that was “rubbing our noses” in the tragedy. They launched a plan to produce pork-laced bullets, which they market as the “truest form of defensive ammunition ever created in history.”

Whether Jihawg Ammo is consistent with the teachings of Islam is unclear. Some interpretations say those forced to eat pork by necessity, rather than willful disobedience, are not guilty. A leading national Muslim civil liberties group called the threat of pork-laden bullets “bizarre nonsense.”

“These people are trying to take advantage of Islamophobia to sell products and make a quick buck,” said Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the New York Post reported

“These are the same type of people who buy into anti-Muslim conspiracy theories, the same people who think that Sharia law is going to take over America. They are publicity-seeking idiots,” Hooper added.

“I understand there are people who say that’s not what the Quran says,” said Hill. “But hey, even if they don’t believe it, it’s still ammo at the end of the day. It’s a niche product but it’s still a natural deterrent.”

The pork-laced bullets have found a target audience, he said, and business has skyrocketed with “well over 500 customers in the last three weeks,” some of whom view it as a novelty, “kind of a pet rock thing,” and others who want to use it as ammunition.

“What we’ve hit is an emotional spirit. I think this is a way to stick up the proverbial middle finger towards political correctness,” Hill added.

The website promises “peace through pork!” and offers like-minded customers a chance to purchase ammunition, hats, targets and t-shirts with phrases such as “Do 72 Virgins a Favor” and “Put Some Ham in MoHAMed.”

One commenter on the company’s Facebook page wrote that “it’s about time someone fights back in this way.” But other commenters on the page called supporters of the idea “stupid” and “paranoid rednecks.”
